T60 WS Fan Noise

I just received my T60 Widescreen and I love the machine but am just a little disappointed in the noise of the fan. It seems to run at a medium level all the time even when doing nothing or just browsing the web. When the machine very first turns on it is silent but within a minute the fan is on and it doesn't stop. Is there any reason for this or a way I can control the fan speed? I tried using the thinkvantage setting to put the system on low power levels which shows that the fan noise should be reduced, but it doesn't seem to fix the noise of the fan. Are there any programs I could download to specifically control the fan speed or any other solutions that I don't know about?

First of all, you might want to search the forums before posting. There are multiple post every week about the fan.
