MATX BUILD in 2 days, please help
Hi, seeing as though i received such helpful help last time I was here I thought i'd call on you guys again!
My x60s is holding up great btw.
Im attempting to build a micro-atx c2d PC for under 350 english pounds.
I have built an amd rig before but I cant get my head around intel c2d and what RAM i need.
I think ill go for an e6300 or maybe e4300 but what speed ram do i need if i do not plan on overclocking?
I have chosen this mother board, Asrock ConRoe945G-DVI.
Can somebody please breakdown how I work it out.
In my AMD rig it was simple multiplier times fsb = cpu speed.
With c2d its the same but the fsb is 266 but there is no 266mhz ddr2 ram!! confused, please help... or better yet write down what i need to buy! Thankyou
ps what confuses me even more is on a review for this motherboard somewhere they say use ddr2 800 for best performance! surely for 1GB ram i need 2x1GB 266mhz ddr2. Why is it not that simple!

I just got my E6300 about 5 minutes ago along with my 680i etc. I have DDR2 800 RAM 2x1gb.
I have Buffalo firestix which are great for OC. If you want good ram, which I think is your question, look into XMS2/Patriot and Cruital.
Can you please be a bit clearer?
