Windows on Linux through Xen with recovery discs?

#1 Post by acasto » Wed Feb 28, 2007 3:30 am

Has anyone tried installing Windows using Xen with the hardware virtualization using the recovery discs? Or would this need a regular XP install disc?

I tried to install it in qemu with no luck. Ended up getting a full windows disk to install from instead. Unfortunate.

The restore disks look for specific hardware, which is not available in the virtual machine. You'll need OEM or retail media.
