Any trick to getting the CPU chip out?

My goddaughter, who is halfway across the country from me right now, is having the types of problems we associate with a loose CPU chip. She's disassembled her A22m but says she can't get the chip out. She does have one of those chip-pulling tools. Is there any trick to this? Anything she needs to be cautious about? Besides not breaking the mobo?

I am not familiar with the A22, but I can tell you that my CPU in my 600X was mounted on a card that was secured to the mobo with a couple of screws. There was also a bracket that clamped the CPU board down. You may have to be very careful and diligeant in searching for such screws and brackets. Good luck.

If i remember correctly, with the cpu exposed (she can plainly see it), there should be a little white screw that doesnt come out on the socket itself. It needs to be turned 180 degrees from its original position to release the cpu. Its a zif socket but without the swingarm to tighten up the cpu. you will need a smaller flathead screwdriver to turn the screw. Plus, its plastic if i remember, so dont force it too much.
