has anyone yet received their Vista express upgrade?

#1 Post by npish » Sat Mar 03, 2007 11:07 pm

Just curious if 'Moduslink' has begun shipping these yet; my status has read "POP/COA validated" for weeks now...just wish they'd ship the [censored] thing...

I did see a disclaimer on one of the upgrade order pages that said 4-6 weeks. Bummer :(

I wonder if that's 4-6 weeks for the whole process, or 4-6 weeks for just shipping, after the COA/POP validation......(probably the latter... :x )

I had the same problem here... After a couple of emails they asked me to phone 800-817-5602.

Probably because no one knows.
Moduslink is not getting themselves a good reputation out of this deal.

Not to mention that you could send the same email request 5 times, and then over the next few days get 5 completely different responses.

And, if you call them, you will get a sixth.

just thought I'd share that I called Moduslink and, as expected, the 4-6 weeks applies to the estimated time for shipping ONCE your COA/POP has been validated;

this whole process seems asinine; couldn't they just supply a unique key upon validation and allow you to download the image and burn yourself?

another update

#13 Post by npish » Tue Mar 13, 2007 2:20 am

decided to "bump" this thread, b/c I spoke with ModusLink again after I noticed a strange/cryptic status change for my order on their site--"Order sent to back office"--and the guy with whom I spoke said that Lenovo hasn't even begun shipping the DVDs yet (???); he also said that the DVDs were specific to the PC manufacturer, which I did not realize (just figured it was the same disc, sent to everyone regardless of brand, then it was on the user to download specific drivers, etc.).....so if no one has really received their express upgrade, I guess that's why......

I have been trying since the second week of February to get my T60p's information in the system for the upgrade, but it says my COA is not valid. I have e-mailed them a few times, and the last response seemed like they took care of it. However, the e-mail they sent did not contain an order number, so the process continues. I just sent them another e-mail with all of my information, but I don't have confidence they will get it right this time either.

The entire process is a mess!
I lost count...

Just received mine yesterday (Vista Home Premium 32-Bit DVD). Submitted my order online on 2/5, but the official order date shown on the packing slip is 3/10. It was shipped out on 3/14.
T60, Core 2 Duo T7200, 2GB Memory, ATI X1300 64MB, 14" SXGA+, 60GB 7200rpm HD.

How do I start this process?
Is there a website to order the upgrade?
