Rescue and recovery + Hidden partition questions

Hi,
1) I have deleted my service partition (playing with a Partition manager software) ... Is it possible to re-installl (I mean copy it from my DVD backup, wo having to go to the full re-install process)?
2) After deleting this partition, I updated the Rescue and recovery to 4.0 and I was surprised that I could log on in the RR after the boot withot having this Service Partition. My questions :
Are Service Partition and RR on two different locations on the hard drive?
Where is stored the RR ?
