Unbelievable!!!
Unbelievable!!!
I've an order for the multiview for 6 weeks and now they are telling me they can't fullfill the order.
Bad service overall from lenovo. Multiple phone calls and email attempts returned no response till now.

What's even more unbelievable is that Lenovo has been voted one of the best vendors.
Considering all the unpleasant delays people have reported regarding lenovo.com, I would never order anything that I urgently need from them.
I've ordered stuff online perhaps about a thousand times and have experienced something similar only once, for an order with Computer Surplus Outlet. That was one of my worst online purchase experiences and I thought more professional vendors would never do that.edlenovo wrote:I've an order for the multiview for 6 weeks and now they are telling me they can't fullfill the order.

I'm not entirely sure that Lenovo knows what this thing called an "inventory" is...

All I can say is welcome to Lenovo, most of us are used to delays etc. I had to wait for my 1st Thinkpad as well, but believe me it is well worth it.
At the moment I am building an intense PC, but a bad mobo was sent to me, so I do alot of waiting as well!

lenovo, like ibm before it, are held hostage by their suppliers..
just like you and me..!
i have no problem taking lenovo to task when they are wrong, but i don't think that that is the case, here..
at least not without much more information..

If they can't ship the product anyway, they might as well price the item high so the demand doesn't exceed their supplies and then lower prices when they have a reliable supply chain.BillMorrow wrote:lenovo, like ibm before it, are held hostage by their suppliers..

I don't think Lenovo or IBM is wrong, but sometimes having a few happy customers is better than having a bunch of [censored] off customers.
Excuse me, but that is a very biased comment. How can you say it is not Lenovo's problem.BillMorrow wrote:lenovo, like ibm before it, are held hostage by their suppliers..

There is no more information other than several calls and emails went into black hole....By asking for more info you're implying that there is more to it and it's my fault. That is certainly not the case.

I have a feeling, that Lenovo uses trucks, and then a boat, a very small fishing boat, to ship your Lenovo computer over the Atlantic ocean to the designated dock, and then uses an older and slow car to export the package from the docks to the UPS store, then UPS opens your package up, uses your computer for what they need, package it up again, then after 3 weeks of looking up porn for their own satisfaction they send it off to you. That's probably why it takes so long, and the call for delays.
I think thats what he's trying to say, it's not all Lenovo's fault, it's the guys under lenovo that lenovo pays so lenovo doesn't have to pay so much for shipping costs, to get to the right ups store.
(i have no idea what i'm talking about) By the way, i'm also waiting for my X60 Tablet, i ordered it Sunday March 18th, it hasn't passed the 10 day period for me to start calling and pestering customer service, but i so wish i had my tablet now, than a month later.

I selected my R52 from their preconfigurered "in stock" systems but took advantage of a couple of a promotional options that were no extra cost. (More memory + another year warranty.)
I happily ordered and soon received an email that my computer order would be shipped in a month and a half. This was soon after Lenovo took over. I called and asked what part of "in stock" I failed to understand. I was told that because of my taking advantage of the free options, they would have to install them on a newly manufactured machine. I was REALLY indecisive about whether I should cancel the order because I needed the laptop right at their shipping time. I expressed this and finally told them I'd call them back and let me know my decision.
The next day, I got an email with a revised shipping date two weeks in the future.
And two weeks later, I got another email with the tracking number.
I then proceeded to annoy my co-workers by announcing the progress of my ThinkPad to me. It went from China to Taiwan to Alaska to Kentucky to Jacksonville, FL to Waycross, GA and to me.
So, no boats that I can tell of, unless that was China to Taiwan, but the rest of it was airplanes. Uh, except that last 80 miles - it was definitely a truck.

you are excused, edlenovo from toontown..edlenovo wrote:Excuse me, but that is a very biased comment. How can you say it is not Lenovo's problem.BillMorrow wrote:lenovo, like ibm before it, are held hostage by their suppliers..

first, they ARE hostage to their suppliers..
one stinking plug thats on a huge BO from the maker and the whole just in time thing crashes or grinds to a halt..
and more than that to UPS and US customs..
and the blackhole you mention is not of their making all the time..
and this time you are the target of the bum luck the gods have decided to rain down on you..
again, i am not a lover of ibm and by extension, lenovo..
and i do NOT pander.. period..
i DO think that the product is still the best around..
full stop!..
what you need to do is relax, have a beer, go watch the parade at mickey's house and forget about it for a while..
i.e. cool your jets..
and i did NOT intend to imply any more than what i said..
more information will bring clarity..
but we are all stuck with a black box..
speaking of which, where do you get off using a username like edlenovo..?
talk about implying something..! that name sure does..
and the toontown, FL..
i let that and you get past me because i was feeling relaxed and not so under attack from spammers when i activated your account..
but you really should let me change that to something that does not imply you are connected, in some way, with lenovo..
and toontown SHOULD be orlando, right..?
you know it and so do i but someone in saudi or south africa might not make the connection..
if you WANT to be a part of the community, then quit the games..
please..
you are welcome here and we are trying to be helpful but taking offense where none had been intended does no one any good..
you might be surprised at a knock on your door friday or next week..
or not..
i have seen all sorts of bad things happen but mostly the "channel" is slick and works very well..

Bill,
I frequent several forums on different products and use the product name to ID my username. I've not encountered any objection before. But if edx60t is acceptable to you, please change it.
I take no offense and don't play games. This is serious business.
I order all my personal/bussiness computer needs online all the time and never encountered such a severe problem. You could be off for days to a week but months off the original quoted date is certainly unacceptable.
Supplier issue is Lenovo's problem not mine. They should not be selling product/s that they don't have. If in case they could not fulfill their obligation they need to respond to multiple inquiries honestly so the customer can look for other alternative.
This is a business purchase for a project that has to be delayed as a result.
And I do live in toontown (Orlando), FL area.

It sounds like you ordered a tablet with the L2500 processor? According to the Lenovo Blog, those became sold out and they've been moving customers to L2400-based machines:
http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox ... mment-1603
Maybe you should ask about your order there?

I totally agree with you, in the sense that it's a problem that Lenovo could have avoided simply by keeping track of their inventory (like RUSH pointed out earlier) and warning people about limited inventories BEFORE they place the orders.edlenovo wrote:Excuse me, but that is a very biased comment.
