Thinkpad USB ports...

#1 Post by NS » Fri Mar 09, 2007 2:28 am

Does that mean that i need to change my USB port?

I have been surfing this forum and fiddling with my other thinkpads when i found out that the USB port which i have always plug in and out my external IBM notebook mouse appears as it is worn off. It looks like paint dropping...

And i have been using the touchpad very frequently in school. When will the touchpad loses it\'s sensitivity? :-( I am not using the trackpoint because 1) i am not used to using the trackpoint 2) i decided to leave it there as new as ever. :-)

This is a rather vague post, would you mind explaining exactly what your problem is?
If the USB-port is no longer working, get a PCMCIA-USB-card to tide you over.

I thought NS was just saying that his USB ports looked worn out and would like to replace them with shiny new ones.

Yes, this is what i meant. Is it really necessary to replace the worn out ones with the shiny new ones??? :?

If they work, I wouldn't mess with them.
Common sense to some of us is unfortunately the higher education others strive to attain.

Sorry, I did not quite understand.
If NS means the paint around the USB-ports flaking off, just use a fine black felt-pen to 'touch up'.
