Fn-F5 not working anymore

#1 Post by Toastedling » Fri Mar 09, 2007 1:36 pm

It used to work, but after I updated to the new intel driver it failed to run anymore, uninstalled intel Proset and IBM access connections, still can't, any ideas?

Also what's a good software to manange LAN/wireless, at work I would like to switch wireless off, and at home I use wireless, IBM AC always trying to connect wireless no matter what.

This is on T43 with 2200BG by the way.

There is several threads and lot of posts already covering this problem. If you do a search for Fn-F5 in this forum you will most likely find a solution.

I use AC with location switching and include ethernet connections in automatic switching. That way the radio is automatically turned off when i connected with a cable and when cable is disconnected radio is automatically turned on. It also connect automatically to those wirelss networks i included in the automatic location switching. It should work if setup correctly, but i guess you have to solve that Fn-F5 problem first for the software to be able to turn your radio on and off.

when I switched my 2200BG for Atheros ABG, I had troubles with Access Connections. I can't remember how many times I uninstalled, reinstalled both the atheros drivers and AC... :(

but eventually I got it to work, the 2200BG my T43 came with worked well with AC, but upon upgrade, I had problems with Fn F5.

I'm not sure the full fix, but the order of installation of drivers vs AC or AC then drivers might fix. try that.

Read through these couple of threads, and you should have it working again.

Last discovery for Fn+F5 problems. When you are using a bluoetooth device (mouse etc.) with IBM Integrated Bluetooth II/III drivers, reset TCP/IP protocol and disable Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver.
