display brightness drops on battery use
T60P 15"IPS. love it when it's plugged in, but take out the plug and the brightness drops significantly. the onscreen display shows the brightness set to maximum 7/7. the powermanager settings are set to max performance across the board when plugged or unplugged. and ATI control center has Power Play adaptive power manager disabled.
i expect fast battery drain when this machine is off A/C, and that's fine with me. but am i stuck with some inaccessible power/display manager that drops the brightness despite my wishes?
i typically only use the machine plugged, but when i unplug it i want it to maintain the same level of brightness. can anyone help? thanks.

Paul,
I went there first seeking it from my experience with my X41T, but in my T60P ThinkPad Configuration doesn't exist in ThinkVantage. new version or something... dunno. ThinkVantage has quite a few differences between my 41 and 60 series machines. maybe related to the T60P having Vista biz.
btw, BIOS took care of it, thanks.

Must be the Vista because it's there in my T60 w/XP Pro. I didn't even know that it was in BIOS. Live and learn!
Edit: The Software Update site specifically excudes Vista from the Windows Systems that suport ThinkPad Configuration: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4ZFRG3

Start/Programs/ThinkVantage Productivity Center/Device Configuration is there on Vista, but its subfunction Select Display Settings is not functional for me (T60p, Vista) -- even though the other subfunctions work.
I have the same problem with the display going far too dim when on batteries. I will try the BIOS route.
