as far as traveling goes; i know with verizon there is no roaming fees and no long distance charges. so that sorta makes it like there really isnt a "home" area per say. these plans start at i believe 39.99 and thats 450 minutes a month. Similar and better quality phones than the tracphone line end up being free with a 2-year contract signing. Plus with the "new every 2" plan you get a discount on any phone at the end of your contract if you resign another 2 year contract. In this day and age cell phone plan pricing doesn't move around too much like it used to and "locking" in to a 2 year contract isn't that scary. They will even let you "test drive" their service for 3 days i think to see if you like it. I use to have a pay per minute phone way back, but what a money pit. they are basically set up for kids so they cant get out of control on mommy and daddy's plan or for folks with poor credit that cant sign a contract.

Were you the one with the P280?
Yes, I have posted about that Timeport 280 before. Nice phone, but long in the tooth, and now my new Blackberry has much better voice phone quality. ... JDH
