Battery maximizer tells me that my battery can only hold 39% of the charge and it's condition is poor (red). So how do I recondition it?

9 cell battery
Vista Ultimate

I was under the impression that there was slme kind of battery reconditioning software I could run?

Well, there is in the Power Manager intended for the T43.

While that Power Manager will indeed usefully run in earlier T4x models, the battery reconditioning section of it is disabled on anything but a T43.

So I guess I just drain the battery completely, then recharge it a few times?

On my T42, if I click on the green battery icon of Battery MaxiMiser, a menu comes up with a choice to Improve Battery Health. I am not sure if this option is available in the earlier T4x series or not. I am using version 1.38 of Battery MaxiMiser Wizard.

Nope, not there. Then again this is in Vista Ultimate in not XP so the software me be slightly different.
