x60 bought in Singapore. Can I request vista to send to Aus

#1 Post by ylim » Mon Mar 12, 2007 10:30 am

I bought my x60 in Singapore. The sales personnel told me that I can request for the Vista upgrade disc to be sent to Melb (doing my PhD there). I wish to verify this.

By the way, anyone in Melbourne can advise me the turn around time?

Thank you.

Ofcourse, you can.

Just make sure you have original proof of purchase.

I am not sure if the site will ask that [can't remember], but if it does you have to enter Singapore. In the shipping address you can give the one in Australia.

Honestly, I applied in December and have not got my upgrade yet. But people in here are saying Moduslink has started shipping them.

I got my thinkpad x60 on 8th March 07. I know 15th the last day to be eligible for the upgrade. When is the latest for me to apply for it?

And the problem is when you enter the country of purchase you must be enter an address which is in the country you have stated in the purchase.

So presuming that I want to send it to australia, should i indicate australia as the country of origin?

I just submitted the request for the vista disc to be sent to Australia. I do have another problem. I read that we have to submit our prove of purchase. But there is no "Australia" mail/email address.

Anyone have any clue? To Asia?

I am not sure what to suggest but you can contact Moduslink Singapore via email OR give a call to Moduslink Australia and see what they say.

:( Sadly that's pretty much normal and is something for which Moduslink has become notorious for.

It is not fair to me. I got a x60 and is waiting for my upgrade disc. Even though I do not intend to install it as time soon but I deem that having it in the cupboard is good.

By the way, it is funny that when I shot a an email to moduslink europe they were fast to tell me that they cant help me and refer me to moduslink asia. And they cant even just write an extra line to tell me who I should email or fax the prove of purchase. They are lame.

So they don't reply me. They gave me a deadline that we have to process our oder by end of this month (Is Lenovo's deadline 30 of this month?)

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Get it sent to a Singapore address. Lenovo has no obligation to deliver it to an address outside the country in which the upgrade offer was made.

Well, according to Moduslink customer service officer, they do provide the service to send to anywhere regardless of where you get it. Shipping/handling differs.

My problem has been settled. Was lucky to get a nice service personnel. Scanned and emailed the prove of purchase and a confirmation is received in less than 10 mins. Was informed to wait between 10-15mins.

Now it will be a waiting time. Has read that some people has been waiting for real long! Another waiting.
