T60 Wireless - waiting for IP

#1 Post by Stephen77 » Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:50 am

I have a t60 and im trying to connect to a wireless network. Several other people around me with older TP's can connect and I can connect to other wireless networks just not this particular one. Anyone hae any ideas as to what may be causing the problem?

Could be many reasons.

[My assumption is based on you're having trouble with a particular network and you're able to connect to others]

-Check if your system is properly configured to that particular network. Make sure you have checked correct network options like access point, ad-hoc etc.
-If you've firewall, disable it and see the result.
-Try by starting from the begining and re-configure your wireless connection again according to the guidelines provided by that network.

I've disabled the firewall and no success. Its an open network so there arent any encryption settings etc to enter. I have copied all the settings for access connections from someone with a T40 that can access this wireless network successfully.

Disable access connections and let Windows try to connect it for you.

Good idea. I had this problem recently and used the same technique. It turned out that my Access Connection profiles were corrupted.

If you can connect using Windows Wireless then you probably have the same problem, just unintall Access Connection (it'll ask to whether to delete the profiles, answer YES), then reinstall it.

Good luck
