DSL internet connection lost on re

#1 Post by noetus » Mon Mar 12, 2007 2:55 pm

I recently "upgraded" by DSL router from a Linksys BEFSR41 ver. 2 to a WRT55AG ver. 2, in order to get wirless. It's an upgrade in that sense, but in the quality of the DSL router, it seems to be a downgrade, from what I've read online. This is with a T42 in the Docking Station.

The trouble is, whenever I suspend the machine and resume, the internet connection is lost. Plus, I cannot get it back by doing a "repair" or by disabling and reenabling the ethernet port. When doing a repair, nothing happens, when doing the disabling/reenabling trick, I get a "limited connectivity" message but there is none.

The only way to get it back is by (a) restarting the machine, or (b) logging out, logging back in, repairing connection.

The other machine on the internet router, a Dell desktop, still has a connection with no problems after I've resumed, so it seems to be an issue with the T42. On the other hand, it only starting happening after I got the new router.

Any ideas? I am currently using version 7.2.17.101 (10/26/04) of t6he Intel(R) PRO/1000 MY Mobile Connection driver (and haven't changed this in a while).

Have you tried uninstalling Access Connections or disabling power management on the LAN? There were similar issues in older threads on this forum.

Hi, thanks for the reply. No, I didn't, but after posting the version number of the Ethernet driver I realised it was out of date and updated it to the latest. That seems to have solved the problem... for now.
