#1 Post by cosmickd » Fri Mar 16, 2007 12:37 pm

I want to know what this process does and if it is needed. Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks,
Jason

Google pops up lots of reasons including Lenovo and iPASS. I have iPASS loaded and I have a ThinkPad and I use Access Connections; however, I have no occurrence of scheduler_proxy on my machines. Google pops this up under security scans as well, so something may have compromised your machine. ... JD Hurst

Pretty positive that SystemUpdate will install it. My Guess is it is exactly what it sounds like, a Proxy process used to schedule certain stuff, like when SU would check for updates.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat 8 installed?

PS: go to Start --> Run ---> Msconfig.exe and in the last tab see the path to scheduler_proxy.

Actually it is indeed some stuff belonging to Software Update. But as i can see it's only in the latest versions of Rescue and Recovery 4 and Software Update 3.0.

So no worry about this process.
