I note that the T42 is listed in neither the TAbook or the TAWbook. Isn't the union of those two sets supposed to represent the totality of recent Thinkpads?

What don't I understand?

There seems to have been a break made in the naming of the ta*book series. The T42 is listed in this one:

Yep. TABook is the current models. LTWBook are the models that were withdrawn after the Lenovo sale. TAWBook are models withdrawn earlier.
