can't access bios

can't access bios

i don't know why when i start up the computer at the IBM logo screen and press the blue access ibm button it doesn't go into the bios?? is this locked or something? :(
IBM Thinkpad T43 - PM 1.86GHz
Sony VAIO FE - C2D 1.86GHz

Lot of useful information in there, although pressing F1 to access the BIOS in the T4x HMM is not in there :( .
