Tabtip.exe memory leak patch

I remember there being both an MS and Lenovo patch to the tabtip memory leak problem. Well, after being walked through an installation process with a worthless Lenovo tech, I overwrote the patch with a crummy driver that's got my tabtip.exe memory growing, and growing...

I've done a reasonably thorough search, and couldn't find the answer. Can anyone point me back to the right patch URL?

For future reference, here's the patch from Microsoft:

Specifically, this cures the tabtip.exe from growing out of control, and taking all of your memory.

Whenever I restart/shutdown the X41T (XP successfully reinstalled), a pop-up window titled "End Program - TabTip.exe" comes up. How can I get rid of this pop-up? Is it somehow related to the abovementioned MS patch? If so, how do I find out whether the patch is applied on this system?
