#1 Post by jlingo » Tue Mar 20, 2007 6:00 am

I don't understand how come Thinkpad USA only offers 1 year limited warranty? I thought it used to be 3 years international warranty?

true, and you have the option to customized to more years if you feel like it.

I tried to customize and choose other options to change the warranty to 3 years international warranty on their website, but they didn't appear to have other choices?

If you buy it from a reseller it comes with a 3 year warranty. I am not sure why, but it does.

What do you mean by other options? For curiosity, I went to Lenovo's website and just configured a T60p with 3yrs warranty.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."

ryengineer,

Did you got to The US websites? if you go to other countries website apart from The US, and yes they offer 3 years warranty. The American website only offer 1 year warranty.

I don't think the 3 year depot means the same thing as 3 year warranty. When I purchased my TP 3 weeks ago I selected the 3 year depot thinking that meant warranty. A couple of days ago I went to the Lenovo website to check my warranty status and it listed only 1 year.

I think you chose "Protection Services" instead of "Warranty service" , if not then I suggest you get in touch with Lenovo because I selected exactly the same 3 yr. depot warranty service and got exactly that.

I selected the same one you selected in the 2 images above. I'll have to call them tomorrow.

Ok Thanks,

I just got it, the problem was because the first ordering menu only listed one choice of warranty option "System Warranty: 1 Year Limited Warranty". I had to actually click continue to go to the next menu which offers more warranty options.

By the way do you know if they are international warranty?
