Power Manager Schemes Missing

#1 Post by chadwicktr » Tue Mar 20, 2007 7:08 pm

I'm having a problem with my power manager. When I go to power manger the only scheme name in the drop down box is "Power Source Optimized." The same is true when I hit function + F3. All my other defaults are gone (e.g. maximum performance, maximum battery, etc). Moreover, if I try and add a new scheme it will disappear as well.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled power manager which has not helped.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

PS. Yesterday when I hit Fn +F3 on my keyboard, I got an error message saying I didn't have the rights to change power settings, or something to that effect. Ever since then I've had this problem.

Perhaps the solution in the following thread will work for you. This is for a T42 though. I don't know which model ThinkPad you have, but a similar solution my work for you.

I'm sorry... it's a T60 ws. 8741 49u to be exact ;)

I was going to post in the t60 forum until I saw this one would better suit my thread.

Thanks, I'll check that link out...

Why in the world woud the registry be messed up?

Before this happened, I was checking out just about every option in power manager. Could it be exploring around I found a bug in Power Manager that would screw up the registry? I've had no problems before this....
