TweakUI AutoLogon
Has anyone used Microsoft's TweakUI Autologon feature?
I've used it on other laptops but not on one with a fingerprint reader. I'm concerned how it work's with IBM's security chip and other stuff.
THanks.

It should work fine, provided you have not set the fingerprint logon.

It DOES work fine. I use it. In fact, I uninstalled the fingerprint software after I used it to configure the system startup. Now, I can swipe at system startup (BIOS) but there's nothing in my way while booting windows. I get full hardware protection (motherboard and hard drive) and no Windows password.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

Perhaps this should be a different post all together... but I haven't been very pleased with the fingerprint reader thus far. It seems to take several seconds to recognize and authenticate back into Windows. It's more convienent then typing a password (at least for someone lazy like me) but I have to wait patiently for about 7 seconds before my screen is unlocked (ie, after my screen saver comes on).RonS wrote:It DOES work fine. Is it worth disabling entirely? Is it reliable? Any good forum posts on what to do with this? Should I turn it off for Windows but turn it on for BIOS?
Thanks a lot.
