Is the top part of the lid suppose to be weak

Hi,

Today, i was realised that the top plastic part of the lid on the lcd side where the hooks are were really weak. there is a a small black plastic part and the large big lid plastic piece. the connection between them is really weak(like there is no glue to keep it together) at the area where the hooks are on the thinkpad. Is this normal? and if not so could i turn it in to the dealer shop to get it repaired?
