Thinkpad Configuration does not work anymore

Hi. For some unknown reason my Thinkpad Configuration program (Tp98.exe) refuses to work. The Thinkpad Configuration Tray icon works but I cannot launch the TP Configuration program. I tried to reinstall the program several times (the last version is 1.55) but it did not help. I even tried to install an older version but it didn't work either.
My computer is a ThinkPad T43p 2668-H2U, running Windows Xp Pro, CSS 8, R&R 4, and Access Connections 4.23. I use System Update and Software Installer to keep all the Thinkvantage software up to date,......mmmmm, may be that's the problem
Any help/suggestion is greatly appreciated.
