Intermittent problem resumng from standby - vista

this topic was covered in part with XP, but does anyone know what to do with a T60P (just bought)with Vista that has intermittent problems waking up.

If I put it to sleep, sometimes it will wake up with f4, but sometimes it requires me to force restart. It occurs about 1 in 5 times

There appears to be no consistency which is what is driving me crazy - though it does appear more frequently if I shut the cover and try to wake up later.
firefox is usually running
intel core2 with 2 gigs ram

any help appreciated

is the computer still in standby (moon led on) when you try to wake it up, or has the machine gone off? are you using a dock?

I'm having the same problem with Vista and my T60.

Are you using the Lenovo NIC driver for the LAN?

I noticed some entries in my event log related to problems with the NIC when using the Lenovo driver. I rolled back to the Vista one and so far in the past 24 hours I haven't had any wake from standby problems.

This issue is super annoying though as I have to do a force reboot to fix it.

I had these issues a while back with lenovo nic drivers also.

Disabling Intels DPSD (deep smart power down) solved this issue for me. I was wondering why the intel nic get's unexpectedly disconnected from device manager after first boot without an ethernet cable and found a known issue with this in the intel nic readme.

Maybe this helps you, too.

Could someone please tell me how I could find the Intels DPSD setting so I can disable it as well. I have the exact same problem with my T60 running winXP and its driving me crazy. Looking forward to getting this fixed.

Mine does the same thing. I put a shutdown button on the desktop to just shutdown. Probably be a fix down the road

Also, I think Intel is testing Vista, just not ready to deploy it company wide.
