Can no longer turn WiFi off with Fn+F5

#1 Post by tpmwr » Fri Mar 23, 2007 1:08 pm

Hey everyone, I have a t42 and so far it has been running vista great, the only issue I am having is the fact that I cannot turn WiFi off via Fn+F5 any more. I installed VIsta fresh and followed all of IBM's driver instructions but I have had no luck either. Access Connections cannot access the WiFi card either, but thats because Windows is accessing it, and to be honest I would much rather use windows to access wifi over the IBM tools, but I still want access to my Fn+F5 on/off features. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with vista and my x41T. What I did was to uninstall Acess connection and wireless driver through software installer and reinstall them. Hope that helps.

Were you able to use Fn+F5 after that succesfully?

Make sure you have following drivers installed in this order:

1. Lenovo System Interface Driver
2. Lenovo Wireless Drivers
3. Thinkpad Hotkey Features
4. Access Connections

Are you using wifi b or b/g or a/b/g?

I had the Intel Pro Wireless 2100/B...and it's not supported by Access Connect and Fn+F5 in Vista. Had to get myself an a/b/g.
