purchased an x41 but x40 came

purchased an x41 but an x40 came. are these the same? specs are the same but the laptop says x40. the bottom serial is x41 2525-54U.

Perhaps you have a FrankenPad, made from parts. What does the BIOS setup page show?

2525-54U is an X41. Where did you buy it from?

press access ibm in setup and check for system properties, should tell you the identification of the motherboard. I guess that's practically the most difference on a x40 and x41. And the cpu is already soldered in the motherboard so can't be switched.

got it from ebay. access ibm says 252554u 1.5ghz 1gb ram

Id say it is a x41 as the program says. the x41 also have 915GM chipset and gma 900 video card which is already in the motherboard. Also it uses DDR2 memory.

With all that It's gotta be a x41
