Electronic Hissing Noise- probably static problem- !speakers

Hey everyone-

I tried searching, came back with nothing. Don't have much more time to search and was hoping someone could help me.

I've got a t42 2373 3xu and it's been great. About two weeks ago, i noticed that my machine was making an electronic buzzing noise-- sounded like a fly caught in the fan or something. Funny thing is when i push down the mouse button (either one) and hold, the noise goes away. I unclick, the noise comes back. It's only really noticible when undocked-- although i can hear some artifacts of that sound when the machine is docked-- it's not nearly as bad though.

I'm figuring it's a static electricity thing / grounding issue. Can anyone help? it's getting really freaking annoying.

dies it sound liek its comingform the usb ports?

it's coming from the left side, near the usb ports, but i wouldn't say directly on it

yea, i have the same problem when im running on batteries.
