T40p strange power problem

#1 Post by WilsonF » Fri May 21, 2004 8:41 pm

It won't be my problem much longer (only until one day after Bill's ship[ment] comes in, but if anyone has any ideas on how to diagnose this I would appreciate hearing.

When my T40p is running on battery power with a fully charged 9-cell battery it will frequently but randomly (a) on its own pop up the system is hibernating window (as it does when low battery is putting it into hibernation and (b) power off instead of hibernating, so that it must reboot instead of resuming from hibernation. When I hit the power buttin, it reboots but, of course, any unsaved files are gone.

The system and battery are 15 months old, and the battery health is good.

The only thing non-standard about the system is that I have swapped the original a/b mini-PCI card for an IBM a/b/g mini-PCI card and replaced the original 40G HDD with a Hitachi 7K60.

Anyone got any ideas? I can't find this system in the HMM.
