Issues with R thinkpad and more issues

#1 Post by jason5885 » Sun Mar 25, 2007 1:03 am

Hello to all members from thinkpads.com and to fellow computer geeks,

Yesterday night, i was happily using my thinkpad to burn and create CDs and yet i cannot read the CDs on my CD-RW/DVD rom player. I run PC doctor and found nothing with my drive. :?

I also cannot watch youtube videos when i have listened to them by installing the latest flash player. When i installed flash player, the installation took 3 seconds to complete and when i clciked on youtube link to watch video, an error popped out telling me my flash player is outdated or my javascript is not turned on. I checked my javascript and it is enabled and my flash player has been updated to the latest version but nothing seems to work.

What else must i do? I know this question is stupid and i am stupid. Sorry. :embarrassed:

No, you are not stupid. Stop beating yourself up.

First off what browser are you using? IE or Firefox?

Secondly I would download the flash plugin straight from Adobe and grab a fresh copy of Java from Sun Microsystems. Installed them both, reboot and everything should be alright.

When I used DLA on my R40 I needed to check the "Make Compatible" box when burning a CD to make it readable elswehere.

Try to swap another friend\'s CD drive into your thinkpad and see what happens.

As for the youtube problem, you must to download the link which ended with a .msi URL..
