TVT SystemUpdate question

I'm curious how reliable System Update is in reporting *ALL* relevant software/driver/firmware updates, as I've noticed some fairly recent firmware updates--particularly for my HDD--on the Lenovo dowloads & drivers website that do not appear in the SystemUpdate list....perhaps these updates are already reflected in my current configuration (purchased this T60p in Dec/Jan 2007), but I'm a bit suspicious of SystemUpdate as a 'one-stop solution'.....any thoughts?

So far I had mixed experience. As I was preparing my girlfriend's T40p for sale I found that Software Update should be updated to the latest version from the web site manually before it will be able to detect all the necessary updates.

As with my usual paranoia - I don't trust any software for 100%, so I do check manually from time to time.

thanks Pirx; yeah, I suppose it's best to at least verify available updates against the website; I was particularly curious about firmware updates, as SysUpdate has not reported a single one since I've had the machine;

surprisingly, when I installed Vista and ran SystemUpdate immediately thereafter, the ATI driver package was not listed, perhaps b/c Vista seems to load a compatible driver with its own installation (?)......that did cause me to question the reliability of the software, however...
