Pity for a website dedicated to IBM Thinkpads there are not many people that can help with second-hand, sourced or used mobo's for sale, Why is that????

Lori,

Good luck, on the A30 board I would say forget it. I handed in my A30p Laptop for repair to IBM (still warranty covered) on August 17th 2004 recieved it back October 7th 2004. Weekly nagging after 3 weeks did not help to expedite matters. The A30 is out of production and I believe ther is a design flaw. My mainboard has been replaced twice for exactly the same problem. So a second hand board would not be advisable in my opinion.

A lot more A22's appear to have been sold so the second hand market for them has to be larger than for the A30's

Thankl-you Thank-you Thank-you khamsin

You are the first very nice person that has even bothered to help me on this & I thank-you so very very much.

So for this I have FINALLY found a place that you can get out of warranty system boards (brand NEW) for ANY IBM LAPTOP and for you khamsin, you're the very first person who I wish to see this, (and all this is for your sincere,
much appreciated support, so here it is khamsin just for you (just now)

System boards nomarmally cost from $200 to $400 each, not bad for a NEW replacement board:) and they are tried and tested before being sent out!!!

Plus they have many many other parts at great prices too!!!

The company is Tekserve Inc.

Lori

ps

BTW khamsin,

Personally speaking, I'd rather have a 10 year old Toshiba than a brand new IBM, at least the Toshiba's are STILL much more reliable even in today's market!
Pity because even today IBM still does'nt build computers, they only build BS, and it's only a lucky few of us that reside on this planet that can clearly see through IBM's smoke & mirrors

Also, yet another reason why you really DON"T want a DELL dude:
