Thinkpad AC Adapter

#1 Post by Lord_Sarevok » Mon Mar 26, 2007 4:40 am

Hello to everyone! This is my first post.
I wanted to know if is possible to use (with not damages to the system) an higher ampere rated AC adapter than the original one.
I'll explain.
This morning I noticed that my x21 wasn't charging when connected to his adapter, no problems when charging from the docking station. I suddendly did a e-bay search for a new one and I found a lot of adapters with an ampere rating of 4.5, but none rated at 3.36 like mine.
I'm askingthis because want to buy an original one and not a compatible.
Thank you in advance
Andrea

The standard adapter (4.5 amps) will work fine because the laptop will only draw as much current as it needs. The original adapter is physically smaller so if you can find the original adapter, it is still a good choice. ... JDH
