TP Fan utility for T21?

#1 Post by Stargate199 » Mon Mar 26, 2007 9:19 am

Does anybody know if the TP Fan utility will work on the T21? If not is there any way to change the settings to have my fan come on at a lower temp that its original settings? I would like to have my fan come on around 65 degrees Celsius. I'm trying to keep my T21 cooler when I have my wifi card inserted. It likes to get very hot when I have wifi.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

I managed to get tpfancontrol to sorta work for a T20 that was overheating (not from CPU). I continually ran into problems of “Can’t access status…” warnings so I modified fancontrol.ini to start with Active=2, number of error messages set to a large number (so it wouldn’t stop), no logging, all sensor checking off apart from the CPU and the levels fixed so that the fan would turn on full blast at start up. The conflict behind “Can’t access status…” comes on just after the program starts, although occasionally the program is able to read/set the registers. Some of the temperature registers appear to be erratic (apart from CPU) so I’m not sure they are measuring valid temperature registers.
Cheers
