I have a customer that says that they can't image their t60 because the serial number wasn't input when the motherboard was replaced. I'm confused, because I didn't think that this was necessary for imaging purposes. I know it's not necessary for using factory disks or for our ghosting system.
I'm more confused, because we've had a hell of a time tring to find any information out about a disk for editing this information. The disk that we use on the t4x series doesn't work on the 60 series.
I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of this causing problems or if they know of a way to edit it.

Hi.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I used a year ago two DOS .exe named IAWRITE.exe and IAREAD.exe, which could write that information. I dont have the programs anymore, but they were provided to me by Lenovo.
Also, aren't you asked if you wanna change the serial number when you flash the BIOS ?
