Installing from DVD or CD recovery on different models

#1 Post by kyzdra » Wed Mar 28, 2007 3:50 am

Hello,

I've got a little question :)

Do you know if it's possible to use a recovery DVD from another model ? Let me explain a little more... I've got 2 Z60m which have different graphic card... I want to use the DVD recovery from one to another model... It's the same question with my two Z61m... They have little differences in the hardware...

Thanks in advance...

probably you can..

i have found, in the past, that the correct drivers and utilities are installed based on the particular thinkpad model..
or put another way, the recovery CD sets seem to be universal within a certain range of models..

within the last few years, that is..

besides, what is the worst that could happen..
it will just complain a bit.. :)

Thanks for your response...

We just need, now, a real user experience about this... Lenovo should inform about the compatibility of their DVD recovery, it's important when you manage a lot of thinkpad computer :)
