New T60, need to know how to make recovery disc.

#1 Post by salin » Wed Mar 28, 2007 5:29 pm

I just got my new T60 today and I wanted to make a clean recovery disc before I loaded any programs. I thought I could find some info on how to do this in ThinkVantage but could not find any. I'm new at this...........any help is appreciated.
By the way...........love this site!!!

I also just got the T60 today, and just finished the external back-up.

Press ThinkVantage button, hover cursor over Rescue & Recovery, click "Launch Rescue and Recovery", then select "back up your hard drive" under the "Back up your system" column on the left side of the dialog box, then click "Create a backup of your hard drive to CDs/DVDs", then follow directions.

I ended up with 2 DVDs, the first one being "Rescue & Recovery Start Up Disc", and the second one being "Final C".

Does the above sound right to you who have done the back-up to external DVDs?

TIA

Thanks.................that worked! I just didn't spend enough time to locate the proper drop down in ThinkVantage.
