new set of recovery disks

#1 Post by deviousalex » Thu Mar 29, 2007 2:23 pm

I want to format my T43p (2868M5U), but the disks that I made when I got the laptop are really old now. I want to order a new set of disks from IBM and they told me it would be $51. I don't mind spending the money, I just want to know how new these disks are. The part number the guy told me is 39K9211. Does anyone know how I can find out how new they are? I looked at the lenovo website and it didn't say when they came out.

Also, if I get these new disks can I delete the hidden partition? Or is that where R and R keeps all it's backup data and I need to keep it?
Thanks,
Alex

So far as I know, the CD's IBM sells are always the originals. So if you made a set and they are good, then no need to purchase the same thing. Any of these recovery sets just restore the machine to the state it was at original purchase out of the box. ... JDH

Well I checked up on the website, and it says that these CDs/DVD replaced an older version, so they must have updated a few things.
