ultrabay slim li-polymer battery in A31P

HI
Picked up a new ultrabay slim li-polymer battery at auction
part number 08k8190
am wanting to use in my A31P but seems all the info i can find says this is for a T40
has anyone any idea if this will work in my laptop or will i be putting power in the wrong place ??

The battery I have in mine A31p has FRU# 02k6645 (ASM P/N 02K6644). And it is Li-Ion. Iy fits into the left Ultrabay 2000 bay.

No, it is not. You need a UB2K battery. The UB-Slim devices only work on the later machine such as the T40 or later, etc. The physical characteristics of the adapter rails or "caddy" is different between the 2.
