SD Reader Error with Vista. (Maybe ReadyBoost related)

#1 Post by rexy » Thu Mar 29, 2007 11:52 pm

Hi.

My Laptop (ThinkPad X60S) has a built-in SD Slot/Reader.
I WAS using it as a ReadyBoost drive with Vista Ulitmate.
But I am certain it slowed down my system (especially) my Start-Up. (nearly two and a half min to fully boot)
The Card (4GB Sankdisk Extreme 3) is fast enough, but my Built-in reader seemed to slow things down.
So... I disabled the SD card as a ReadyBoost device and stopped ReadyBoost from running in my System.
And set the pagefile to 0. ( my thinking is, I don't have a lot of programs/apps running, just throw all the RAM at it.)
Once the above was done It DID speed up my system a VERY noticeable amount!( I have 2GB of RAM.)
But... I noticed when I attempt to "Safely Remove" the card, I am unable to.
I get a message saying it can't be removed because it is being used.
I got that message when I was using ReadyBoost, which was fine and understandable,
But since it's been stopped as a ReadyBoost Device,
what in Vista could be using it, and preventing me from "safely removing" it ?

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
