Specific area of palmrest creak on 15" models - does yo

#1 Post by Alltweed » Fri Mar 30, 2007 1:50 pm

Did not notice this at first, but in the lower left corner of my T60 15" model, there is a small area for the infared( I assume this is what it is).

If you press on the front of this area it has a plastic flex to it. Now, if I press down over that area from the top - definate creaking which is distracting if you lay your hand their while typing.

Wonder how the 14" is?

Anyone notice this specific area? I searched the threads for palmrest creak, but nothing on this issue.

I fixed all creaking and flexing on two 15" T60's like this:
1. Loosen the 4 screws marked with the chip symbol in the bottom
2. Firmly (but gentle..) press the palmrest against the base over each screw and fasten it. Start with the middle ones.
