T60p Hibernate problem

#1 Post by abramo » Sat Mar 31, 2007 3:45 pm

I don't know what else to try! :x
I don't know WHAT made the thing disappear, but the suspend/hibernate feature suddenly disappeared from my T60p (running updated XP and installing up to date Lenovo drivers).

From the Properties/Energy Options the Suspend tab is gone, I can't check the suspend checkbox inside the Power Manager because it self-unchecks as soon as I apply.
I have re-installed all possible related drivers/applications.
dumppo says that only S5 is supported and no way to add S3 and S4.
I even stepped back to an earlier version of the BIOS but with no luck.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance,
a.

Is it possible that you have inadvertently deleted the hibernate file?

Try in the Control Panel going to Power Options and then the Hibernate tab - is Hibernation enabled? If it is, uncheck it, reboot, re-check it, reboot and see if the Lenovo Power Settings work.

Not sure where Properties/Energy Options is located, but did you try ControlPanel|PowerOptions|Advanced?
Under "When I close the lid..." I have Hibernate selected.

Sorry, I have the italian version of WinXP and I translated literally from italian.
Yes, the ControlPanel|PowerOptions|Advanced is the place where I tried to change the selection. Unfortunately, I select the "sospensione" option (which I imagine is the translation that Microsoft has chosen for "Hibernate") and apply. If I close and return the "Do nothing" option has come back!!!!!
The same happens in the Thinkpad Power Manager: I select the "suspend" checkbox, apply, but it goes back unchecked!
