Creation of Recovery Media failure

#1 Post by thibouille27 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 3:15 am

Just reinstalled everything from factory.
Did install updates etc from Software installer and System Update3.

Wanted to create a set of recovery CDs as I dunoo where I put my other set. It works (hevily reading/writing on Hard disk) for a couple minutes and then stated that there was an unidentified error.

Ouch!

It might be easier to buy an external USB hard disk, or partition the internal HD.
Then get Acronis TrueImage and take an image that you can store on that other HD/partition.
If anything fails, you can boot from the Acronis CD and restore your saved image a lot faster than restoring using a pack of CDs.

Well I did a backup of the Restore Partition.
It's just that I like to a have a CD set just in case, like external HDD crash or something...
