I went through Add/Remove to uninstall Lenovo Client Security Solution (CSS).
The cssauth.exe is still running on the background. The CSS folder would not delete in the Lenovo directory due to cssauth.exe.
The cssauth.exe process was stopped thru windows task manager. Now due to tvttcsd.exe, the CSS directory wouldn't delete.
Before stopping further processes, is there another method to completely remove CSS?
And can you use the finger reader without the CSS proram?

Yes FPR and CSS re separate
I recommend you search on CSS in this forum to find what you need. Yes, you can use the fingerprint reader without CSS - in fact in my experience it works a lot better without it.

I uninstalled CSS and still got cssauth.ext running all over the place. Sad to say, it's part of Rescue and Recovery and you have to remove IT to get cssauth out of the picture. That's what I did and I now use Norton Ghost for my backing up and potential rescuing. I deleted the hidden thinkpad partition also since I didn't need that any more.
