Is it OK to let my GPU temp go up to 76 w/tpfancontrol?

My T60p fan's whistle/whine is driving me nutty so I've been experimenting with TPFanControl and found that if I turn on level 4 (3500 rpm) at 76 degrees C and let it cool down to 68 degrees C before shutting the fan off that the fan is only on about 25%-50% of the time. Here are my TPFanControl ini settings:

Level=68 0
Level=76 4
Level=79 7

Is it bad for the T60p to let the GPU swing back and forth between 68 and 76 degrees every 5-10 minutes?

Yeah, I'm just nervous because when the BIOS controls my fan, the temperature is normally in the 60's.
