T60/T60p 15" platform questions (screen, video card)
T60/T60p 15" platform questions (screen, video card)
I'm interested in picking up a (used) 15" T60.
First and formost I need a Flexview, SXGA+, or preferably the UXGA.
I would also like dedicated graphics, preferred v52xx series.
My questions.
1.)Can a standard t60 15" with the regular XGA be swapped for a flexview? (SXGA+? UXGA?) has anyone attempted or know the similarities of the displays?
2.) Can a SXGA+ FV screen be swapped for a UXGA screen?
3.) Can a base 15" T60 with intel GMA 950 system be upgraded to dedicated graphics? (e.g. is there a vid card slot empty and soldered to the board or would it require a new motherboard?
4.) Can a T60 15" with dedicated graphics already(i.e. x1300) be upgraded to a higher card? (i.e. v5200) or is the card soldereid to the motherboard?
I apprecate any contribution.
thank you.

I believe the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, since I have read multiple accounts of people doing it. That said, I have an SXGA+ screen, and its definitely good enough for me, I dont think I would need UXGA for anything, but some might.

Thank you guys for your answers. I now feel confident I can swap screens between any 15" t60 or t60p be it XGA, SXGA+ or UXGA.
In one circomstance, I was thinking of buying a super cheap 15" t60 with the regular XGA screen and slapping a flexview in that system.
I have one more question, Ill just ask here to avoid another thread.
besides the video card, processer choice and screen, is there any other difference between a regular 15" t60 and a 15" t60p "workstation" ?
Thanks again.
edit: nice system BTW, brentpresley. just what I would like...
