lucky thinkpad survival story

#1 Post by ryan » Wed Sep 29, 2004 1:11 pm

ok, so normally i take my thinkpad with me in a backpack that holds laptops in the back pouch to class. this time i didn't take it for whatever reason. on the way downstairs from my dorm room, i was frolicking, and happilly jumping up and down the stairs. unfortunately for me, i jumped hard into a slab of concrete (which i hit with the top of my head), passed out, and awoke a few minutes later daised and laying on the stairs (i know that i passed out because i was running late to class and had just checked my watch before the incident, and after).

now, 2.5 hours later, as i debate whether or not to go to the hospital because i have some of the symptoms of a more serious concussion (drowsiness, and lost consciousness for a short time) i am just happily content that i was not wearing the thinkpad. even with its supernatural thinkpad strength, i'm sure it would have broke in two from me falling on it and it sitting on an edge of the stairs.

interestingly enough, i remember a lot of the event. i don't remember falling on the stairs (where i was laying when i un-passed out), but i remember jumping up and hearing a huge popping noise.

Thanks for your concern :). Went to the hospital, and, long story short I'm out $100 and I'll be fine. Of course, it was worth it just in case.

WTH are you attending school that you're not covered by a school administered health plan?

You shouldn't be out anything, unless that's the plan's co-pay.

Sorry to hear about the pocket drain, glad to hear that everything checks out.
