Possible to install X WITHOUT wiping current data?

#1 Post by abu_sme » Fri Apr 06, 2007 1:55 am

I am really interested in installing Mac os X 10.4.8; however, I really want to keep everything I have in place on my hard drive. I have more than sufficient space on my hard drive space but I really want to keep things business as usual on my windows partition.

I keep on reading the wiki on installing OS X and I keep on getting conflicting information.

I mean, I am not too worried about screwing up my system, I make daily image backups with acronis, so if I royally screw up the whole boot system, I can get my computer right back to where I started in a couple of hours. I just don't want to waste my time on a potentially fruitless effort.

So I ask the thinkpad community, is it possible to install Mac os 10.4.8 on my 2007-8ju t60p without touching my existing setup.

Edit: I can wipe my hard drive and then do a restore on another partition of my current setup, I might try this first.

I gave up, it really can't be done. I tried creating another partition and the Disk Utility couldn't erase it for no particular reason. Xp for life.
