Chipset driver and Vista - install or not?

#1 Post by Torque » Fri Apr 06, 2007 7:37 am

Hi,

I've just installed Vista. (T60, 7200rpm 100GB HDD, X1300 64MB, 1GB RAM).

Currently I have only installed the power management driver and the ultranav driver.

The system runs fine and quite snappy, although it seems to be slow when dealing with larger transfers on the HDD. I suspect I may need either the chipset driver or the intel matrix driver - but I am far from sure.

How is your setup and experiences with this?

I would suggest you install the intel inf driver update at least. I had crashes with usb attached devices without it. If you will gain any performance, maybe.

I installed the chipset driver. This actually helped with the HDD grinding :D
