what could this be on a T22

#1 Post by SaberX » Sat Apr 07, 2007 11:47 pm

I'm looking at a T22 on e-bay.But the seller says it has this problem....
This Laptop was working fine, i bought it couple of months before, I install so many programms and i think some programms gave me problem and it is crashed. After booting it is giving an POST error message on screen and not goes into system BIOS, I don't know what is real problem is? if you can fix, it is very good Laptop.

I'm e-mailing him to see what the post error message is.
Just wanter to post this here and see if anyone has seen this befor.

could be many things depending on what the error message is.

maybe bad motherboard, could be bad ram etc. But i would wait to see what the seller replys with.

i would say it is definately not a software problem, as it should post and enter bios even if the operating system is screwed up. It is therefore unlikley the software he installed caused it (unless he was flashing firmware or overclocking).

I imagine it would probably involve repairing or replacing some of the hardware. You might want to take this into account when you decide how much you are prepared to spend, as laptop parts can be expensive.

That would be a yes, unless you know how to solder on a replacement EEPROM.

I dont know much about soldering eeprom's.
I'm doing some serches now but what would a T21 system board run?
Just want to see if it's worth picking the system up and looking for a systemboard.
The system now is $60.00 shipped.

A working T21 board should run $50-70 shipped on eBay, depending on the level of patience that you have.
